Okachi-Yokote Road is a very rugged road behind the old Koshu-kaido Road. Along the road, you can see the Koshu-kaido Road heading to Sasago Pass.
In 1582, Takeda Katsuyori retreated from Shimpu-jo Castle, crossed Sasago Pass, and headed to the estate of the Oyamada Clan. Being betrayed, however, he escaped to Seiun-ji Temple at Mount Temmoku, located on the opposite side of Sasago Pass.
