The Torii gate with the name plate displaying the characters for “Sangoku Daiichizan” was erected such that the sight of Mount Fuji fits entirely inside the gate. A five-tiered “Chureito” pagoda (literally, “Tower of the Faithful”) also stands on the grounds of the shrine as a memorial for the war dead. The area near this pagoda offers a breathtaking view of Mount Fuji, and fills with visitors particularly during the cherry blossom season.
