A Rokujizodo Signpost stands at the edge of a parking lot facing a three-forked road. The main body of the signpost is inscribed with words to the effect that “Kawaurado Road is to the right, Nishihodo Road is to the left.” Although the words are somewhat faded, this shows that the location of the signpost was a junction of Chichibu Okan Road and Nishihodo Road, and that the Rokujizo had been installed there as a signpost.
Kawaurado is another name for Chichibu Okan Road which passes through the Kawaura district. Nishiho is a district along Chichibu Urakaido Road, and Chichibu Urakaido Road was thus also called Nishihokaido Road.
