Ryukai-ji Temple was a branch temple of Hoko-ji Temple before it was abolished. All that is left of it today are a number of tombstones and Koshin Towers near a signboard advertising Korogaki persimmons. Among them, the Koshinto Tower carved with an image of a four-armed Shomen Kongo deity image and two monkeys is also inscribed with words to the effect that “Kawaurado Road is to the right, Nishihodo Road is to the left,” indicating that the tower was also used as a signpost for Chichibu Okan Road. Kawaurado is another name for Chichibu Okan Road which passes through Kawaura district. Nishiho is a district along Chichibu Urakaido Road, and Chichibu Urakaido Road was thus also called Nishihokaido Road.
