The eighteenth head of the Kai Takeda Clan, Takeda Nobutora, built Tsutsujigasaki Residence in Kofu Fuchu, or simply Kofu, from 1518 to the following year. Before that, the Takeda Clan was based in Kawada Residence, said to be built by Nobumasa according to one theory and by Nobutora by another theory. In the vicinity, there are place names associated with the residence, such as Goshoguruwa and Onmayashiki, and remains of a moat and earthen embankment are also found.
