The southern side of the ruins of Koarama Bansho Guard Station was the outskirts of the village of Koarama, where travelers came and went via Bomichi Road. Here, a pair of male and female Dosojin deities (Sotai Dosojin) characteristic to Nagano and Yamanashi Prefectures, is enshrined in a simple wooden temple which is rare in Hokuto City. In ancient times, travelers shed their misfortunes and prayed to this Sotai Dosojin for a safe travel. They also prayed to a stone Buddhist image, Koshin-to Tower, and Akiha-to Tower that stood near the Sotai Dosojin image.
The bus road today is called Fujimi-dori Road (literally, “Mount Fuji Viewing Road), and the area where the stone images are located provides a commanding view of Mount Fuji.
