Myoseki-bo Temple, located behind the Grave Site of Nichiren Shonin, was the entrance of the back approach to the Oku-no-in Inner Temple and the front gateway to Mount Shichimen. Myoseki-bo Temple was established by Gakuzen-in Nippo Shonin in the Bunroku era (1593-1596). It was first called Myoseki-an, but renamed to Myoseki-bo in 1862. On the same grounds, there is Soshi-do Hall, where a bronze statue of Nichiren Shonin donated by religious groups in Edo in the Genroku Period (1688-1704) is enshrined. The round coved ceiling at Soshi-do Hall was made by Ozawa Hanbe, the well-known late-Edo Period sculptor. There is also a high stone seat (koza-ishi) on which Nichiren Shonin sat and preached. It is said that when Nichiren Shonin was sitting on the stone and preaching, he asked the Shichimen-Daimyojin Deity to appear as a dragon, which it did, and then flew to Mount Shichimen.
