Shakuzen-bo Temple, a sub-temple of Kuon-ji Temple, stands on the right side of the path from So-mon Gate to San-mon Gate. It was established by Nichiden Shonin, the 13th head priest of Kuon-ji Temple, who is included as one of the three great priests that restored Mount Minobu. It was initially located near the Renjo-bo Temple in Higashitani and had Aragyo-do Hall, a hall where they taught Buddhist priests who were in charge of prayer services. In 1819, it was relocated near the current Renge-ji Temple. It was combined with Monju-bo Temple in 1868 and relocated to the current location where Monju-bo Temple was located. The Shakuzen-bo Temple now takes care of nearby Ishiwari-Inari-sha Shrine.
