Entering the precinct from the Bodaitei stairs, there is a big bell on the right side, which is rung once in the morning and once in the evening. This bell was donated by Oman-no-kata, a concubine of Tokugawa Ieyasu and a believer in the Lotus Sutra. The bell tower was donated by the religious association in Nanjo Town, Kai Region in 1882.
