Entering the precinct from the Bodaitei stairs, there is a five-storied pagoda on the left side. The Genwa Pagoda, built 400 years ago, was destroyed by fire in 1875. The pagoda was rebuilt 133 years after the fire, in 2008, and a completion ceremony was held in May 2009. The height of the pagoda is 38.2m and the horizontal width of the first layer is 5.6m, which is magnificent. It enshrines the Itto Shishi statues (Shaka Nyorai and four Buddhist saints) and Nichiren Shonin statue. All the wood used for this pagoda was domestically produced. The central pillar is made of 500-year-old sacred wood cut from Mount Minobu.
