Hakusan Tateoka-jinja Shrine is known for its old wisteria tree, which was designated a natural monument of Yamanashi City. The wisteria’s branches stretch out over a pond. It is relatively large at 1.3 m in height with a 2.25 m root circumference and covering an approximately 172 m2 trellis. It comes into full bloom in early May, and the flower clusters grow to nearly 40 cm long. A Wisteria Festival is held on May 5 of each year.
Beneath the wisteria trellis, a stone monument to Mount Kokage, which enshrines silkworms, and the God of the Round Stone (maruishi dosojin) was also enshrined in the precincts.
