Daio-ji Temple is a Nichiren Sect temple. It was at the east entrance of Kurihara-shuku, and the residence of the Kurihara Clan, which ruled the area, was thought to have been built in the middle of the Daio-ji Temple grounds.
In the graveyard to the north side of the temple grounds and the bamboo forest to the east, ruins of earthworks remain.
