The Americaya was the largest building in the town. It was built very close to Nirasaki Station in 1967, and it is a beloved landmark of Nirasaki City.
It is a five-story reinforced concrete structure with a floor space of approx. 500 m2. The first floor had a restaurant and a souvenir store, the second floor had a café, the third floor had a residence, and the fourth and fifth floors were used as an inn.
The building was closed when the owner passed away. The interior was refurbished while the outer appearance was preserved, and the building reopened in April 2018.
The new Americaya building has a café on the first floor, a DIY store on the second floor, variety stores on the third floor, and company offices on the fourth floor. The fifth floor is used as a community space open to everyone and features a panoramic view of the townscape of Nirasaki, and Mount Fuji through large windows.
