Entering toward the Kamanashi River from the Koshu-kaido Road, there is a road that continues intermittently for about 500 meters. Built 1 to 2 meters higher than the surrounding area, this is actually an embankment that protected the town. The reason for the intermittent embankment was to gradually release water during times of flooding. Looking down one Nirasaki-juku from the embankment, you will feel the important role that the embankment played, and individual life of people who lived with the history of flooding in Nirasaki-juku.
