Takeda Nobutora (1494-1574) was the eighteenth head of the Kai Takeda Clan. He settled the family dispute that had long continued since his predecessor and unified the Takeda Clan. Thereafter, he defeated the other powers in the country and succeeded in the unification of Kai Province. It is said that Nobutora was born in this house, which was the home of his mother (younger sister of Iwashitaechizen no Kami). In an archaeological survey carried out in 2001, partial remains of a Hottatebashira building (building with earthfast posts) were found as a vestige of the residence.
