Minobusan (Mount Minobu) Ropeway connects the back of the main hall to the inner temple, but it is also possible to use the front approach toward Nishiki-ga-mori. Joroku-do Hall is situated on the way to the inner temple. It was built in 1643. Inside the Joroku-do Hall, a statue of Buddha and a large group of stone Buddha statues called Sentai Botoke (one thousand Buddha statues) donated by Oman-no-kata, a concubine of Tokugawa Ieyasu, are enshrined. The building and the statue of Buddha are registered as Minobe Town Cultural Properties. The Joroku-do Hall was named because the height of the statue of Buddha was ichi-jo roku-shaku. It was initially placed at the side off Niten-mon Gate above the Bodaitei stairs; however, it was relocated to the current location in 1664.
