The First Pond (ichi-no-ike pond) is located behind Shichimenzan (Mount Shichimen) Keishi-in Temple. It is said that this First Pond has never dried up since ancient times. Its diameter is about 150 m, which is large. It is also said that when Nichiro Shonin stood at the edge of the pond, the Shichimen-Daimyojin Deity appeared in the figure of a dragon. It is also said that Mount Shichimen has seven ponds. However, the First and Second ponds are the only ones that we can find at present. Some have said that some ponds appear only when it rains. There is a legend warning that anyone who sees the Seventh pond will become blind.
