About 400 m to the east from Yogo-seki Stone at Oku-no-in Temple of Shichimenzan (Mount Shichimen) Keishin-in Temple, there is a large yew tree, a sacred tree of Mount Shichimen, which is designated a Yamanashi Prefecture Natural Monument. The circumference at the roots is 8.5 m, the circumference of the trunk is 5.90 m, the heigh is 21.5 m, and it seems to be more than 1,000 years old. It still grows fresh leaves and remains robust. Long ago, a woodcutter struck the trunk of this tree with an axe to cut it down, and it started to bleed. He thought a god lived in the tree and stopped cutting it. Since then, this tree has been enshrined as a sacred tree for Mount Shichimen.
