A closed inn in Akasawa-shuku was refurbished to serve as a guesthouse. According to records, there were nine inns in Akasawa-shuku in the early Meiji Period (1868-1912). Osaka-ya was an old establishment that opened before then, and was a pioneer along with Edo-ya in Akasawa-shuku. The first floor of the guesthouse was built in the Tempo Period (1831-1845) and remodeled into a two-story building around 1882. It was closed in 2004, and reopened as a guesthouse in 2016. The building has a shared lounge, bath, kitchen, and toilet as well as cooking utensils and appliances. It has a Japanese atmosphere, and the guest rooms are available at reasonable prices, which attracts young people and visitors from abroad.
